Executive Coaching

The Finest Possible Version of a Leader

Executive coaching is a process in which the coach works with the client in one-to-one sessions to help him or her become the finest version of a leader that they can possibly be.  This is about moving forward to achieve goals which may seem out of reach because of the pressures and constraints of organisational life.  The coach helps the leader to identify and remove the blocks which are getting in the way and free up the way forward.

What is Coaching?

Coaching and consulting are not the same.  In our role as consultants we offer our clients expert recommendations and guide them towards solutions we know will work well for them.  Coaching is different.  As coaches we help leaders draw upon unexpected inner resources to find the relevant vision, think through the available options, make the critical decisions and find the paths which bring about the desired organisational results.  Our goal is to enable the leader to discover his or her own greatest levels of creativity, problem solving, mastery of relationships as well as tasks and the ability to inspire others to do the same.  The Anteri coach will gladly work alongside the leader step-by-step until these goals are met and the process is complete.

Coaching Outcomes

We use a proven process, a carefully selected array of helpful tools and instruments as well as a unique interaction and questioning style to assist individuals in the following ways:

·    Guide them through a process of accurately assessing the impact of their current leadership behaviour on the results they are currently achieving in their organisation

·    Work with them and, possibly, others who work closely with them, to discover how they can enhance their approach to leading their staff toward achieving measurably outstanding results

·    Help them discover the thinking processes and behaviours they currently employ which either enable others to achieve their best results or inhibit others in the pursuit of excellence

·    Help them find inner answers and make decisions which connect with the realities of their organisation so as to maximise their potential for achieving the best results for them, their peers and those responsible to them

Executive coaching can be particularly helpful for people new to a senior role or for more experienced leaders who have ‘done the courses’ but know in their hearts that their organisations have not reached their full potential.  Coaching should be viewed as a nearly automatic option for all leaders during the pivotal times following a restructuring.

The Anteri Approach

We take the coaching process and add elements, which we believe and our clients tell us, produce a set of outcomes that continually amazes and delights both them and us.  We work at a deep level which cuts to the heart of the issues leaders face to put them in control of their work and lives in ways they may never before have experienced or thought possible.  For example, we have worked with many clients who believed they were locked into lifelong behavioural patterns that have continuously produced adverse results in their professional and personal lives.  We are skilled in helping such clients look at these issues in entirely new ways and then bring about truly transformational change, often in a matter of a few weeks.

How the Coaching Process Works

The coach will sit down with the client before the full coaching programme commences and conduct an initial session.  The objectives of this first session, which will last about two hours, are to:

1.      Explain everything the client needs to know about coaching: instruments and tools, the history of  coaching, the full process, expectations of the coach and of the client

2.      Design the way that the coach and client will work together, which we call a ‘designed alliance’

3.      Begin the coaching process itself

Subsequent sessions will last about an hour and may be conducted face-to-face or on the telephone.  The coach will send the client a detailed e-mail summary of each session.  This is an essential part of the process as the client can use these notes, which form a kind of ‘personal development diary’, to look back on everything they have covered during their coaching sessions and thus maximise their learning and progress.  The recommended duration of a coaching programme is between ten and sixteen weeks although it may be a little shorter or continue for longer if desired.
